Screens are a modern alternative to adjustable brise-soleils and roller shutters. Screen blinds protect from the sun, withstand strong winds, and enhance the appearance of house façades. They block the sun’s rays from entering the room while still allowing enough daylight to pass through. Side screens also act as a windbreak. All screen fabrics are of superior quality and resistant to fading. Like other types of exterior shading, screens can be operated manually or by motor. The ideal solution is to place the screen box in an under-lintel casing, but it can also be visibly mounted in front of the window. Screens can be anchored to the window frame, wall, or between the jambs. Screens are available in different types: “guided by channels without a zipper,” “guided by channels with a zipper,” or “cable-guided.”
